I partnered with long time friend and mentor Martin Blank to produce a 10’ x 7’ layered composition of glass panels on a custom stainless steel hardware for a home in Laguna Beach, CA.
After initially determining a composition with photoshopped panels on foam core, we fused down large glass panels in kilns at over 1,600F to emulate the textures and shapes found in streams and rivers. Stainless steel hardware was designed and engineered to hold the 1,500 lbs of glass, and we precisely drilled and notched the glass to be held by the fabricated structure. After careful test fitting in the studio, all the parts were packed in custom crates before being hand delivered and installed on site.
